These baskets from Motsi Living are functional art pieces handwoven from natural grasses. As no two baskets are the same, each piece will give any room a unique look and feel.
Indigenous to the Batonga people of the Binga district of Zimbabwe. Binga baskets are made using old-age and traditional weaving techniques passed down from generation to generation. These detailed patterned baskets are made from dried palm leaves (natural colour) and dyed tree bark (brown colour). Traditionally the Binga baskets are made to be functional, used for winnowing grains but have now also become known for their use as decorative pieces.
These baskets are handwoven and are not mass-produced, taking 2-5 days to make depending on size and complexity of the design, they are rustic in appearance and have few imperfections. Stunning on their own, or hung in groups as a feature wall.
Made in Zimbabwe.
